My daughter and I made good use of our Saturday to hand wash both Trixie and Genie. I hesitate to call it a svending, since we just did a single bucket wash with liquid Zipwax cleaner/wax combo. Still, it is a huge improvement over what we had before. We have two pretty big cars. Cleaning a minivan, especially, is an effort. After this, I weeded the garden, so a pretty productive day.

Wait, you have a K900? I guess Lebran really got to you, then. Man, those are seriously uncommon. Stunning interior though.

I got locked in one at an autoshow once. The childlock was on and I got in the backseat.

Scooby is I6 powered and genie is V8, a tough choice indeed...

Oh yeah, I guess you weren’t around when that happened . Yes, the interior is wonderful. It’s not an accident that my number of road trips went up significantly after its purchase.

I am imagining your face pressed to the rear window begging to be released.

She does like to sit in the car, so I don't really have to choose.

I think theres nothing more appropriate than an electronic exhaust dump for  that v8 k900. Because no one will believe a glorious V8 engine note is coming from what looks like an O ptima.

The sound is  really subdued, as is appropriate for a car of this class. Usually you feel the quiet thrum of its power beneath your rear. It’s when you push the go pedal a little more that the dragon awakes and roars under you.

You seem to be a KIA person. How do you like the van? We’re in the market for something newer than our 03 Odyssey.

Looks great, what are your thoughts of the liquid cleaner/wax combo you used? Does it do much to help keep things shiny?

Oppo going to kill me but we realistically only get to wash our cars properly only twice a year or so...and they get filthy the rest of the time. Any product that will help keep it relatively clean with just a quick spray during the rest of the time (while also not being a ton of work up front) is sorely needed in my garage.

Well my friends had wandered off so I eventually just had to surprise someone who also wanted to check out the back. I got the impression it was the sleeper luxury car of the decade and perfect for road trips. Glad someone bought one at least. I think I see more modern Continentals than K900s.

I also appreciate that brilliant red color on the Sedona.

It happened by accident, really. We looked into all the vans, but when my wife sat in this one, she knew it was her soul match.

We’ve puts lots of different kinds of miles on this one since 2016, and used it to haul lots of stuff and people. I highly recommend one to replace your Honda. My sister drove an Odyssey of your vintage, and between the two, I think you would find this a major upgrade for a reasonable price. It’s been very reliable for us. I can go through the pros and cons with you in detail if you get interested enough.

The K900 also happened by accident.  It popped up on CarGurus, and I couldn’t resist a test drive.  I fell in love on the spot.

Two things- somehow I missed you were in Texas as well, and you think a minivan has a lot of surface area to clean, try a Suburban.

Honestly, this stuff is okay, better than nothing for sure. But it’s nothing like the protection a real hand wax will give you, and I try to do that at least once a year. Svend and other authorities tell me that the spray sealants are the best and easiest over paste wax, and I have yet to try them, but I mean to. I will recommend going over the windshield with RainX now and again.  It siliconizes the glass and makes your wipers’ job much easier.

I won’t judge you for not hand washing.  It’s not that easy for me to do properly without help, and I usually make do with the local automatic wash.  They do a rub down of the inside and windows too, and we buy their coupon book.

They are both fantastic for road trips.

I’ve always been a fan of Continentals as well, and you’ll see my face against the window of one wherever I find it.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one parked. Only getting passed by one in the left lane.

Honestly, I think the exterior is nicely understated, which jives well with the target audience. No experience with the interior though.

My LS’s were the same way, silent as can be but if you step on it you are wafted forth with a powerful but subdued thrum.

That was fun for a bit, but removing the 5 (5!!) mufflers and letting the 1UZ be heard makes owners of Mustangs/ Challengers/Chargers/c arpayments really confused.

Thanks. I’m ready to be done with minivans, though I do still like our 03 very much. But we’ve still got four more years of high school, college trips, etc, and a van will be handy for five people.

How often does Hugz get a bath? Chill had a bath after his trip to Texas in mid March. (That is, he had some fun in the washing machine).

Hey Chill!

Every couple of months. We have noticed his fur has lost much its fluff. In fact, I’ve taken to guessing his age in pictures partly by his fuzziness.

My wife would put him in the washer, but she didn’t protect his eyes well enough. He developed cataracts. Then one broke, so I found a box of new ones on Amazon and did a transplant. He wore a pirate patch for a couple of days in the interim. He still won’t stop saying “arrrr”.
